Every building (and garden) has a story...

alt

Garden Walk Buffalo has been welcoming garden enthusiasts–from around the country–into gardens since 1995. 2016 marks the second year of collaboration between the Buffalo Architecture Foundation (BAF) and Garden Walk.

As part of its Building Stories Program, Garden Walk Buffalo visitors will be able to hear select properties’ Building (or Garden) Story.  By scanning the QR Codes on the signage along the tour, visitors will gain an insiders perspective to these amazing and unique spaces.

The stories collected from Garden Walk Buffalo 2015 are available on the Buffalo Architecture Foundation website.

2016 Marvin Lunenfeld Beautification Grants Announced

Garden Walk has granted nearly $100,000 in Marvin Lunenfeld beautification grants to block clubs, non-profits and neighborhood associations for beautification projects in the neighborhoods of Garden Walk. Marvin Lunenfeld, and his wife Gail McCarthy, were the founders of Garden Walk Buffalo.

Over the years, we've taken YOUR contributions and helped to fund community gardens, hanging basket projects, curb-side planters, and more. In essence, YOU are beautifying Buffalo's great urban neighborhoods. Please consider making a donation this year. And thank you for your past donations.

Award amounts are based on the overall project cost, eligible projects are required to include matching funds from government, private contributions or volunteer sweat equity. Applications are available, online, each Fall. Awards are granted each Spring.

To see the entire list of Lunenfeld Grant recipients since 2015, visit here.

Congratulations to the 2016 recipients:

Volunteer for Garden Walk Buffalo!

greeterGarden Walk is looking for volunteers to help out the weekend of the Walk. We're looking to "staff" our two headquarters with enthusiastic supporters of the Walk that can help answer questions for estimated 60,000 visitors (20% come from out-of-town and don't know the area well!), encourage donations, help visitors with their purchases of GW merchandise, and direct visitors to areas of the Walk that they may find of interest.
