|Horticulture Scholarships available at NCCC|
The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo has awarded a $28,000 grant to the Niagara County Community College (NCCC) Horticulture program to support scholarships and marketing.
Five $2,500 scholarships for full time students are available for fall 2010 semester and awards for part time students are also available. Scholarship recipients must commit to volunteering or working for a non-profit green organization.
“The education that these students will receive in the art and science of plants, and the added commitment of service re-enforces the belief that NCCC horticulture is about educating a workforce that will help build greener communities,” NCCC horticulture program coordinator Carolyn Stanko said.
NCCC is the only postsecondary institution offering horticulture education within the eight-county region of Western New York.
