Gardens Buffalo Niagara is growing and is seeking an independent contractor who will work part-time as its Executive Director. Gardens Buffalo Niagara was founded in 2014 specifically make Buffalo Niagara a premier garden destination as a catalyst for beautification, education, tourism, promotion, community-building, healthy living, sustainability, and civic pride. Gardens Buffalo Niagara has over 50 volunteers, organized into committees including Garden Walk Buffalo, Tours of Open Gardens, The Buffalo-style Garden Art Sale, specialty tours, trade show tabling, weekend garden tours and walks, and the Marvin Lunenfeld Beautification Grants.
The Executive Director is the key management leader of Gardens Buffalo Niagara. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of Gardens Buffalo Niagara. Other key duties will include fundraising, working closely with the Board of Directors, marketing, and community and volunteer outreach. On average, we expect services to be rendered about 10-15 hours per week with more hours during the summer.
The Executive Director must be thoroughly committed to Gardens Buffalo Niagara’s mission.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and other qualifications. We will consider all applications received by May 15, 2017.
