A lecture organized by the Graycliff Conservancy, Inc, by the brilliant and noted authority on landscape of the 20th century will take place at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Charles A. Birnbaum, FASLA, FAAR, is the Founder and President of The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) in Washington, DC. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the American Academy in Rome.   He has written and edited numerous publications including Shaping the American Landscape ), Design with Culture: Claiming America’s Landscape Heritage, Preserving Modern Landscape Architecture and its follow-up publication, Making Post-War Landscapes Visible   He is a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post.

The lecture series is presented with support from the New York State Council on the Arts and with the cooperation of the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, the Buffalo Olmsted Parks, the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, the Elmwood Village Association and the Richardson Restoration Corporation.
